Come and admire the skill of Burgundy’s master builders!

Take a leap back in time to the Gallo-roman era,  in the underground quarries of Aubigny, or to the Medieval era in Vézelay.  Wander through the “Cité de Caractère” of Druyes-les-Belles-Fontaines and end your journey tasting a crisp Vézelay wine.

Here’s a suggestion of a day’s  itinerary of 47.2 km

10h -11h30 : visit the underground quarry of Aubigny.  An amazing labyrinth of light and shade, a magical underground world of 1,500 m².  This whole site is made up of large caverns, shaped over time by the extraction of blocks of stone.   Why not try your hand at stone cutting in one of the workshops available for adults and children.

11h45 – 12h30 : Visit the village of Druyes-les-Belles-Fontaines. During the second half of the 12th century, the castle was built on a  limestone promontory.  A remarkable Roman church and a viaduct are further achievements of the time.

12h30 – 2pm : Lunch at  l’Auberge des Sources Druyes-les-Belles-Fontaines (menu comprises starter, main course, cheese, dessert – apéritif and coffee included)

3.15 – 5pm : Visit  the village and the basilica in Vézelay – Visit one of the “Plus Beaux Villages de France” (most beautiful villages in France), with its UNESCO World Heritage listed basilica.

5.30 – 7pm : Cave Visit and wine tasting – In the heart of this wine growing village, Tharoiseau, on the Eypert Estate, whose wines include Vézelay, Bourgogne rosé and Melon de Bourgogne.

Prices :
