The caves are a classified archaeological site of national interest, which reflect 300 000 years of history (paintings, bones, lamps …) During your guided tour, which lasts about an hour, you will discover stalactites and stalagmites, columns, draperies, and other concretions. As you travel through the 12 rooms you will get to know all the anecdotes of the great caves (candlelight traces, 18th century graffiti). You will also come across the 2 lakes, and during the visit you will see millions of years’ worth of different water marks. Arcy is the second cave in the world recognised for its paintings (Chauvet being number one!) After (or before) your visit you can wander along the Cure river and enjoy a picnic. Descriptive notices in English, German, Dutch and Polish.
