In the Fôret au Duc, a magnificent deciduous forest, there is a legendary place made of granite blocks, called the “Roche des Fées“: will you find the bed in which the fairy came to rest?

Go and cool off at the Griottier Blanc or on the banks of the Cure, at the place called “Les Iles Ménéfriers“, or go to the Parc aux Daims.  To discover a breath taking panoramic view over the Morvan, you will have to climb to an altitude of 556 meters, to the Rocher de la Pérouse, the highest point of l’Yonne!

At Saint-Léger-Vauban, Musée Vauban is entirely dedicated to the  Maréchal de Vauban, famous military engineer and Marshall of France, born here in the 17th century.

A little further, in the heart of the forest in the hollow of the Trinquelin valley, nestles the Benedictine abbey of the “Pierre–qui–Vire“ which owes its strange name to a dolmen whose upper part would “turn“ at the touch of a hand. This stone is now sealed!
