Best pic-nic spots
We know only too well that eating in a restaurant every day is not always an option, so just for you, we have found some of the loveliest places to have a picnic!
Our only recommendation, don’t forget to take a rubbish bag with you so that you can leave the place as clean as you found it – if we all do our bit, everyone can enjoy a cleaner environment!
Easy to get to, on the water’s edge, in the forest or in the heart of a village, here is a selection of charming places where you can enjoy a picnic.
Angely : Marzy hamlet on the banks of the Serein river
Asquins : « Pâtis » on the banks of the Cure, next to the campsite
Avallon : in the Cousin valley – there is a play area
Châtel-Censoir : in the port of the Nivernais Canal, near the campsite
Chastellux-sur-Cure : by the Crescent lake near the barrage, – there is a play area
Noyers-sur-Serein : a shaded area on the banks of the Serein River along the promenade “Pré de l’Echelle” – there is a play area . Or as you leave Noyers (towards Montbard, after the Gendarmerie, take the path on your right leading to the river)
Pierre-Perthuis : On the banks of the Cure river, by the « two bridges»
Quarré-les-Tombes : in the park with a play area, or by the Griottier Blanc reservoir
Sainte-Colombe : next to the reservoir, lieu dit “ruisseau de la goutte”
Vézelay : behind the basilica there is a vast shaded area, or in the gardens of the abbey
